Delos is a small island of great archaeological interest, birth place of two gods (Apollo and Artemis), according to the Ancient Greeks. The Armenistis Lighthouse is located in Cape Armenistis, at the north-western side of Mykonos and it was built in 1891 after the tragic sinking of the English steamboat VOLTA in 1887, when 11 members of the crew drowned. At present, this legendary lighthouse is managed by the Hellenic Navy’s Hydrographic Office. The lighthouse is all of 19 meters in height.
